A Week in Review & More...

What an awesome August thus far! Our team has been "crazy busy" (a phrase used with joy around the office--especially in August)!

Last Wednesday we held our third Facebook Fan Appreciation Happy Hour at Cafeina Lounge Wynwood. We had our biggest turn-out ever! A big thank you to Erica Freshman and the Cafeina family, Credelis Media Group and all of our friends, fans and followers! The space is killer for special events and the Credelis folks hooked us up with a live twitter feed.

On Saturday our team headed to Macy's department store in the Dadeland mall in support of Chef Brian Aaron. Brian prepared a 3 course Asian-inspired meal for the close to 100 guests in attendance. The coolest part? His mug and our logo posted throughout Macys' across South Florida. Their awesome special events team even placed an ad in the Miami Herald!

Moving forward, here is a look at 3 things we are loving RIGHT NOW...

HEADS UP ON ENTERTAINING:
We are loving the September issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray. Though we usually stay modern in our designs and presentation, we couldn't resist this sustainable centerpiece idea. The mag's test kitchen director scores multicolored cauliflower and local farmer's markets and uses the heads to make vegetable bouquets. Use antique cans to go vintage or clear glass for simple elegance.

BURIED TREASURES: Another chef's trash is another's treasure, right? Go green and "Bill Nye the Science Guy-esque" and try planting your leftover unpeeled garlic, ginger and lentils. Give'em some water and see what happens!!

CHEF PORN: The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Cookbook is coming out in November! Bourdain pens the forward and the pages are covered with more than 100 recipes from chefs like Paula Deen and Ferran Adria (Brian's Favorite). This (with or without a grand tasting ticket) would make the ultimate holiday gift.
